Thursday 28th November

Hello Folks,

I really enjoyed Septembers B&C,partly because i had a rare chance to perform but also because a few days before the event it didnt look like we were going to have any performers. I had a doom laden month of considering whether, after 10 plus seasons we might be coming to the end of the road.
I neednt have worried, old regulars came to  the rescue( thanks to John Wood [one man and a battered strat] , Pete Newcombe [One man and a Big Orange Lollipop]  Kevin Howcroft and to Geoff Rogers who drove down from Shrewsbury for his first B&C performance

Since September theres been a healthy stream of interest such that we have 6 new performers over the rest of the season ,two re-formed or re-imagined performers and some very welcome returns.....

Mark and Jill from the Rhythm Thieves need little  introduction, performing and running many local sessions (Sun at Leintwardine,Nollies occassional soirees in Leominster, White Horse in Clun) and I bumped into them last week at Captain Jerrys great little session at the Radnorshire Arms which I hope he's able to keep going...go along and support him on a Monday night.
Anyhow Jill and Mark have new material to try out and always give an assured and well structured performance

I'm really pleased to announce a return of James and Cerys, two young performers who had the pub silenced with the first opening chords on James' piano. Since then they've been performing at festivals and music competitions so we are fortunate that they are back before they get snapped up.They have their own site and also videos on You Tube (search James and Cerys)

Earlier I mentioned performances by re-imagined artists and Tobian is just that. He has played Balladeers many years ago under his previous name and to my mind played with a wonderful angular style with alternating time signatures, obscure tunings and mythical narratives...I'll not say who he is..just come and see

There appear to be only one or two performace slots for March and May but there's always next season..i'td be great not to start September  in a doom-laden manner again! (speaking of doomladen i'm still after a ticket for Sabbath's Birmingham gig in december if anyone has any leads they can pass my way?)

thanks all
