Thursday 26th September

Hello Readers

Welcome to another season (we think possibly the 10th in Presteigne) and this season is already looking to be promising with new performances from  A Month of Sundays bassist  Eric and new band, Cerys and James fresh from winning the grand Final of the Acoustic music competition at the Ironworks in Oswestry, a first appearance for the Tony Burt band, a return of the reformed Arquettes who last performed 2006/7 and thats before the seasons started.
This months not yet sorted...i did promise slots for September to a couple of bands but i've forgotten who they were and they've forgotten to contact me...they might just arrive on the night but we are already sorting other performances.
Its come on the heels of what was a very succesful Cider festival. Although i played a solo set to  a small crowd of umbrellas, they all semd to appreciate dad and daughter rendition of Whiskey in the jar and so did the Sun which stayed out for the rest of the day.
I'm aware that the cider may have contributed to some of the gushing praise but there were a lot of presteignite who hadnt come across B&C before and thought it was one of the best days music theyd had for years ( and i was especially thanked for including Frank Sinatra and the Nelson Riddle orchestra into the between perfomance music..it was that kind of day)  so thanks to Caitlin for supporting me, ,Bob and Doc (and Lollipop),Dave Luke and the Lukettes (and a confident Stones solo which knocked spots off the latter day Keef),The Lancett/Matthews experience (the best rendition of Vigilante Man many had heard for years),Firestar for being brummies,Jack Brett for both youth, maturity and wonderful slide, Red Madog for endurance in pain,A Month of Sundays for bing A Month of Sundays and Vaginapocalypse for understanding why they had to be re-scheduled go on last and bringing the whole day to such  a wonderful close...you missed a blinder but we'll do it again next year..hopefully a bit tighter and better publicised

so here we go

see you next thursday or in November,January, march or may
