Thursday November 24th

I'm beginning to wonder when the day will come that this blog appears after the event in question given my general tardiness over the last few B&C's .However the backroom staff decision to redecorate the sproglets bedroom and knock out half a wall did somewhat eat into the narrow supplies of surpus energy we hold for any task requiring the use of concentration...and sleeping on a half eaten matress on the floor whilst said sproglets took our bed did little to help regenerate those supplies...so sorry if it's late but it feels remarkeable to have got anything else together..we didnt cancel all the pre-arranged visits either, one half of whom are on the way to brum as i write to see Red Hot Chillie Peppers( there excuse being that they are half Americna and  have a teenage daughter though I dont think this quite wins the biscuit) at the NEC whilst we babysit the other half..and then thers the...

this months Balladeers & Chancers sees another varied and wonderful night of performances
the welcome return of Rapsquillion who if memory serves me had the whole pub singing along and dancing last time they played just by their sheer exuberance and the abandonment of self that sometimes comes over audiences at Balladeers
Maya who, may er be familiar once they look up from under their Fedoras.. a first outing for this classic early blues duo but who i feel will bring a sense of well studied musicianship  and sincerity to their performance
Appleby/Kinsey who despite the name are not a couple of soull producers from the hidden depths of the Memphis Rhondda axis but a return o fKen Kinsey, capable guitarist with A  Month of Sundays (AMoS) and whose set with the Appleby Kinsey Trio last Balladeers was studid and accomplished with one of the few covers of a Nick Drake song i've ever enjoyed.Anyway he's back with Gwen for a differ ent set and perspective
I'm also hoping that Banjanova may be turning up but havent had this confirmed yet..Jim and Mal opened the Dukes Cider festival and despite having a banjo in their line-up entertained everyone quite admirably....
if they dont show there may well be a Chancer by then..though given the late notice....?
