Thursday 31st March

Hi All,

there's a distinctly local feel to this months Balladeers and Chancers

we welcome the (annual) return of Paul Hassett, the Knucklas troubador who returns each year with a honed set of originals and considered covers..

those of you who saw the Almshouse Band last Balladeers may recognise one half of Sister C and Brother M...one of the Murrays' (the falstaffian one with the large banjo)has teamed up with a singer (Charlotte) who otherwise is in Fleurs de Lys(where she also plays Hurdy Gurdy)..this will possibly be their first live gig and you can be there to see it..

Katie Green last performed at Balladeers two seasons ago with her school band..and jaws dropped at the strength of her vocals.
She returns as a solo performer with an eagerly anticipated soulful set..

and finally (no, really, finally) you rarely need an excuse to go to the bar as the beers so good at the Dukes, but you might just want to stay there for this..
Banned from the Dukes, well what can I say? with a combined age that pre- dates Presteigne and a resilience to most known poisons (they've tried them all, knowingly or not), you'd just better resign yourself to good time blues and to see the night out

Also, I've decided not to do Hay this year so there will be Balladeers and Chancers at the Dukes in May as usual..and it's going to be quite some line-up to see the season out

so see you soon
