29th January 2009

Welcome to a New Year. I guess the mark of a good event is that it can run itself which B&C did last month as I went down with one of the lurgies scouring the Marches. Needless to say I was gutted as I missed my old friends Ken and Jim, a rousing set by Howard and a new talent in Richard Lewin.

When B&C first started we were blessed that so many local young people came to the performances and wanted perform. Inevitably they moved on and away but I'm really pleased to see that a new generation are coming through and welcome Katie, Jack, and Henry to their first B&C.

Old friends and occasional surprise backing band (if you recall John Wickes set last year), Emma and the Professor return to blow away the winter blues and test the PA.
Similarly the Daughters make a welcome return…it seems too long since Beth, Peta and Bex transported us away from cares and worries...here’s to a welcome return.
And finally Virg Clenthill, a new performer to B&C, more country and Bluegrass which as you all know is alright by me, and an acoustic outing of what is in fact a stage show...cant wait!

See you all on the night.

By the way, if anyone out there knows how to put audio onto blog sites and can spare me some time, I have all the performances from last season to go onto the site which would make it even more interesting...
