Thursday 26th March 2009

Hi all and welcome back. As you may have gathered my e-mail has a virus so I'm using the blog solely this month.
My apologies to all and sundry if you've been hit with multiple e-mails

This months balladeers are:

Toby Wainwright Johns,

Melinda and Paul spend there time between Presteigne and North Birmingham and when not performing Paul runs a business selling top end guitars.
they perfrom mostly covers from the 60's to the present

Bobshop

A welcome return for Kate harding (not featured in the pic on the flyer..she's in the background out of shot) and those of you familiar will know her sweet voice. Those of you who dont, you're in for a treat.A five piece band with gentle lilt of fiddle ,guitar and congas, another gem of the Marches

Little Hoedown

Texas musicians(Guy Clark,Jerry Jeff Walker,Townes van Zandt, Steve Earl) were my first inspirations to pick up a guitar and try to sing so I always feel immensely proud and a little dewy eyed when Mary returns from Texas to pick up with Little Hoedown and play Balladeers, an event as significant to me as kate campbell(another Texan) returning to play Rhayader.Radnorshire hills Old Time and Appalachia...more hidden gems of the Marches

so see you on Thursday and for more details or to perform at future events, contact me ' swatty.yikes@virgin.net or 07837 944090
