Welcome back to this, the third season of Balladeers and Chancers I'm sure all of you who've attended over the last few years will attest to the high level of entertainment and quality from the performances. This has been a genuine source of pride for me as the assumption behind Balladeers and Chancers has always been that if you can find the right venue and create an accepting environmnent, musicians will come out the woodwork, no matter how shy and retiring. However, one drawback to the quality of performances we've seen is that it's given the impression that:
(i) it is a night for semi professional and professional musicians;
(ii) that i pre-judge who is suitable to play
neither of the above is correct...you want to play..book your slot..it's as easy as that.The only decision I may make is to get a balance on any one night..ie not all bluegrass bands or all delta bliues pickers etc
So if you or anyone you know wants to perform...contact me..it's that simple.
So here's to you all, one of the friendliest audiences any of the performers have come before..it's the regular feedback I get from them...thanks.
