Thursday 31st January

Hi all,

the seasons hardness is now truly upon us... a freeze followed by more floods and gales...without doubt time to get out to your local boozer and watch some live music, speaking of which

now its true the phone lines haven't been buzzing over the yuletide and new year so there remains spaces for other performers but I'm certain the both this months performers are up to the task of extended sets

Firstly a welcome return for Jack Brett, a young performer who last time he played used effects pedals and sample loops in a very impressive set which had some of the more technologically minded stroking their beards and murmuring appreciatively and the rest of use just wondering how he was going to get back to where he began.
Jack has now taken up the lap-slide guitar and left the pedals boxed up..should be a blinder

Various members of the Almshouse Band have appeared at Balladeers since their  inaugural gig two years ago in Jan 2011 and its a welcome return to this local band who combine humour, big guitars and and ancient instruments (hurdy gurdy,cittern,banjo,violin,sax...) to tremendous effect and are just the tonic to blast the winter blues away

Now did i mention that there are still slots for another performer or two?

call me or e-mail asap
